Rx Access - Helping Those in Need to Find RX Help Through Patient Assistance Programs And Discount Prescription Drugs
The high cost of prescription drugs is one reason why many people who need medications cannot take them as prescribed. Low-income populations, the elderly, uninsured or underinsured people often have to skip dosages or not take the medications that can save their lives because of the cost. What they do not know is that many pharmaceutical companies have discount prescription drugs that can assist these vulnerable populations in getting greatly discounted or free brand name medications.

What is a Patient Assistance Program?
Famed talk-show host and spokesperson Montel Williams is spreading the word about the Patient Assistance Program, which is also referred to a prescription assistance program. This program is available to people who do not have health insurance, may be low-income, and cannot afford their expensive medications. Many seniors on fixed-incomes can also benefit from the Prescription Assistance Program’s discounted medication programs, while in the donut hole or if they are not enrolled in a Part D program.
Pharmaceutical companies make their brand name medications available to low income and uninsured (or under insured) patients for free (or significantly discounted) through Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), also called Prescription Assistance Programs. You may have heard of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance, PPARx, located online at (www.PPArx.org) popularized by PPARx spokesman Montel Williams. PPARx works hard on the behalf of America’s pharmaceutical research companies to spread awareness of the various Prescription Assistance Programs available to people with no health insurance and low incomes, and who are in need of prescription help.
There are currently more than 1,300 Prescription Assistance Programs accepting applications for the free brand name medications and discount medications they manufacture. Prescription Assistance Programs are not regulated, which means that each pharmaceutical company has its own qualifications, forms, processes for refills, and rules for re-qualifying for free medications. The requirements for these PAP’s, as well as the prescription help programs themselves, are constantly changing; the application and renewal process can be complex, fragmented, confusing, frustrating and time consuming for most qualifying patients.
Uninsured patients can work directly with the various pharmaceutical companies that manufacture the brand name drugs they need, or they can use the resources offered by Partnership for Prescription Assistance, but the statistics speak for themselves: most consumers who are 100% qualified to receive free brand name medications (or discount prescription drugs) fail to receive those free prescriptions because of the complexity of the process. Sadly, they leave the Patient Assistance Program frustrated and without the free medications they so critically need.
Rx Access is your free & discount prescription drug advocate!
Rx Access finds the low income prescription drug program that you are qualified to take advantage of, out of the 1,300 available – whether it’s for one prescription drug or twenty. Our average uninsured client takes 5 different free prescription drugs (or discount medications) and we have some clients who currently receive 16 free prescriptions every month!
Rx Access takes care of all of the complicated paperwork.
Rx Access adjusts your plan as your health status changes. For example, if you need prescription help for a new medication, Rx Access’ advocate team will work to find the free prescription drug program (or discount prescription drug program) that you qualify for at no additional costs.
Rx Access helps you to continue receiving prescription help from the Patient Assistance Programs you are accepted into, by taking care of the ongoing paperwork and maintenance of your qualifying status.
Rx Access offers you assistance in obtaining a Pharmacy Discount Card. Pharmacy Discount Cards can be used to obtain potentially huge savings (from 30-60% off) on generic drugs. Over 60,000 pharmacies currently accept Pharmacy Discount cards.

Institutions (click here for our Institutional Division page)
Rx Access began as a low income prescription drug program to help individuals. Not surprisingly, we have found that institutions that are paying for their patient’s prescription drugs can use prescription help too! Rx Access can help your patients receive discount prescription drugs and free brand name drugs as their advocate in the Prescription Assistance Program process.
In addition to saving healthcare institutions money with our prescription help, we save your staff time and resources by handling the applications process as well as ongoing refills for your qualifying low income patients.
